What is a neurologist?
A neurologist is a board certified physician who specializes in
the diagnosis and treatment of diseases associated with the
nervous system.
What types of insurance do you accept?
Our office accepts a wide array of insurance coverage. Please
see Insurance for a list of accepted coverages and plans. We
also accept self-pay. Co-payments may be made by cash,
check, or credit card.
How do I make an appointment?
Please call our friendly staff during normal business hours to
schedule an appointment. See Contact Us for more details.
I do not speak English. Can I still be treated?
Yes, the Eastern Neurologic Services office staff members
speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, and Russian.
How do I refill my prescription medication?
Medication refills are issued only if the patient has made an
office visit within the last 6 months. In some cases, a patient's
status can be reviewed over the phone. However, an office visit
is mandatory in order to refill all controlled substances.
How do I obtain my test results?
Our office policy stipulates that test results are not given over
the phone. In order to obtain test results, you must make an
appointment for an office consultation.
Is the office accessible to handicapped persons?
Yes, both Dr. Gao's Midtown and Chinatown clinics have
elevators and handicap bathrooms.
What if I need assistance getting to the clinic?
For patients insured by Medicaid, Eastern Neurologic Services
provides a complimentary van service that ensures
door-to-door pick up and drop off. Please call our office 24
hours ahead of time to arrange a pick-up.
